see you next week

A new and important phase in your life is about to begin, where the planets give you the most positive vibration you've had in long while. It's this positive attitude that will carry you through even some of the most gruelling changes which are going to occur. Try to keep in mind that you are not in a race, and that today's road to success involves slow, calculated steps towards your goals

Cuckoo

i'm immersing in belle & sebastian this week... especially this friggin complicated song, "I'm a Cuckoo"...

"Jesus told me, go after every coin
Like it was the last in the world
And protect the wayward child
But I'm a little lost sheep
I need my Bo peep
I know I need my Shepherd here tonight
Breaking off is misery
I see a wilderness for you and me
Punctuated by philosophy
And a wondering how things could've been
Id like to see you
But really I should stay away..."

We'll be doing something like 6 covers for Belle and Sebastian nite in October... I think I have a relationship with my band-- I need to make time for it, keep the sparks alive, commit to it and jeez with all these projects I got, the commitment part is really tested!

But really... I am a cuckoo, according to this week's horoscope at Shine

Leo (July 23rd-Aug. 22nd)
Oh, Leo, you're a fool for love. It's kind of cute when Meg Ryan does it, but on you, it just looks pathetic. Walk away from love before it walks all over you, leaving nothing but a set of muddy footprints. (Yes, it's true, we're a little bit country, a little bit rock 'n' roll.)

Turning Direct

C'mon Universe! Let's do this!

stolen from http://www.astrology.com

Jupiter, the planet of expansion and generosity, has been retrograde since May 9, slowing or even stalling progress, is turning direct on September 7. With energetic Mars squaring Jupiter on this same day, you will not only move forward, you will feel like a horse let out of the starting gate at a race! Pluto, which has been retrograde since April, turns direct one day later on September 8, which brings added intensity to everything.

With both Jupiter and Pluto going direct within days of one another, it seems that evolution is again on the march for the entire world. A lot of change is coming! This is what we've all been waiting for since spring, so take stock of lessons and rewards, and get ready to practice the self-transcendence that Jupiter challenges us to perform.

and in case you're wondering, yes this fixation with astrology can be traced (and blamed) around 16 years ago with this series.

50

don't we all wish we could be this hot at age 50?

i heart our lola madonna.... she celebrated her 5th decade yesterday

i revel in the fact that we have astro aspects in common : virgo ascendants, sun in leo, mercury and mars in virgo

she gives this fan hope... after an out-of wedlock child (the gorgeous lourdes) and a gazillion lovers, she finds her guy ritchie at age 41... and 2 kids, and more adopted ones to come, she is and will always be ... the Queen of Pop (all hail).

Lunar Eclipse

A partial Lunar Eclipse occurs this afternoon at 5:16 PM EDT, triggering awareness of need or lack in our lives, such as our relationship to work, to our health and bodies, and so forth. This is a time when matters come to light--things that have been brewing under the surface.

When a Full Moon occurs, we can suddenly burst forth with proclamations and outpours that seem fresh and new, simply because they are not yet rationalized. A Lunar eclipse is a more potent Full Moon, and its effects tend to last longer.

Many astrologers believe that the effects of a Lunar eclipse last approximately six months. With the Leo-Aquarius axis involved, this Lunar Eclipse presses us to strike a balance between romance and friendship, and between expressing ourselves in personal and impersonal ways. Epiphanies are likely at this time as we become acutely aware of our lack. This understanding can propel us into positive action.

solar eclipse

i hate that it rained today! i would've wanted to see this solar eclipse unlike these Slovenian kids in Hyde Park

A Solar Eclipse AND a New Moon .. new beginnings/inevitable ends... depends on how one sees it...

stolen from cafeastrology ...

At 6:13 AM EDT, a New Moon Solar Eclipse occurs in the sign of Leo. The effects of this eclipse can be felt up to six months after the actual date of the eclipse. In the sign of Leo, confidence, creativity, romance and dating, games, sports, recreation, speculation, hobbies, or children will be a strong focus on a personal level. This eclipse is about new beginnings regarding all of these matters. With this potent Leo energy, we have the chance to make progressive changes in our lives. For some of us, circumstances are such that we need to pay more attention to these matters. Flaws in an important system in our lives are revealed around the time of the eclipse, prompting us to redo or to start fresh. Something ends in order for something else to start anew.
